TARA BAUDOIN  |  Art Inspired by Eternity

Tara Baudoin is a self-taught, mixed media artist whose passion for painting was ignited just over two years ago while experimenting at her kitchen table. Dabbling with flow acrylics and palette knife texturizing, she was inspired by the non-traditional techniques of contemporary artist Thad Morgan’s early works. She eventually transitioned from bold colors with defined edges to more muted abstracts incorporating acrylics, watercolors and diluted inks contrasted with metallic circles.

Though fairly new to the fine arts, Baudoin is no stranger to the creative process. She attributes her grasp of composition and color to a long-time career in graphic design. Her logo designs can be found on many businesses in Lafayette including Tsunami, Buchanan Lofts and Refinery Barber Salon, to name a few.

The Louisiana artist has been selected for solo shows at Gallery R and Lounge Gallery in Lafayette, both in 2018, after only beginning her painting career about a year earlier. Her works currently remain on display at Lounge Gallery.

Artist Statement

​

I describe my work as “art inspired by eternity,” and often convey within it timeless spiritual concepts that to me are so fittingly represented by circles – unity, forgiveness, redemption, hope, and an eternal God juxtaposed with a finite creation.

I will be unveiling a new collection soon to reflect new inspiration I received from a Japanese artform.
